At Rumah Kecil School we believe that playing in early childhood is the highest form of learning. We seek to develop our students into independent learners by thoughtfully incorporating and integrating play in all our lessons. This makes our foundational learning objectives more interesting and relevant. We also respect our students as an individual learner means we support the children to be the best version of themselves and with teachers and parents help, we develop a tailored pathway that promotes independence, creativity and imagination.
Rumah Kecil School also believes that life skills are very important to children. Rumah Kecil’s Life Skill Program provides hands- on opportunity to children to build core qualities that will stay with them for life; resilience, independence, how to work as a team, how to solve the problems, the ability to bounce back after mistakes, perseverance and courage.
Early childhood is also the best time to start acquiring environment-friendly behaviors. We are firm believers that, through education, we can contribute to improving the environment. We have a program that implements a participatory approach that generates awareness and behavior change in our children and the school community, so that they become catalysts for change in our society.
At our school, children aged 1 to 4 develop their fine and gross motor skills through fun, age-appropriate activities. Fine motor skills—help strengthen finger muscles and coordination needed for everyday tasks. Gross motor skills grow as children run, climb, jump, and explore through active play, helping build balance, strength, and body awareness. These experiences support healthy physical growth and prepare young children for future learning.
children freely express their creativity using various materials like paint, paper, glue, and natural objects. Through simple projects such as collage, stamping, or finger painting, they explore colors, shapes, and textures while enjoying the process of creating. This fun and open-ended activity encourages imagination, self-expression, and joy in making something with their own hands.
To develop the neurological process that organizes sensations of one's own body, makes it possible to use the body effectively within the environment.

In our cooking class, children are introduced to the joy of preparing food through simple, hands-on activities. They learn to explore textures, colors, and tastes while helping with age-appropriate tasks like mixing, pouring, or decorating. Cooking becomes a fun and meaningful way for children to build confidence, practice patience, and enjoy working together with friends and teachers.
Small children are unable to sleep long hours. If they don't sleep or rest during the day, they will be drowsy in late afternoon and if they fall sleep then, they will stay awake until late.
We want to show the kids how plants grow and how we can continue it. It's always fun to get a little dirty.
We use Indonesia Curriculum as our based school program learning and adapt Cambridge Curriculum as our learning program on language and literacy. We use thematic system throughout the school year learning program. Every month the students will learn the objectives by using different theme. We designed the themes carefully so the students will learn not only academic skill but also the understanding about the world around them.
Across our school curriculum, we integrate a range of assessment forms to measure student’s acquisition of key skills. We use portfolios and per-term report card. In term 1 and term 3 we will deliver the report card by email. Parents can have a meeting with the teachers if it is necessary. In term 2 and 4 the parents will get a hard copy report card and there will be Teacher Parents Meeting.
